In the interest of me being able to use LJ again, can someone recommend a non-google product where I might be able to get a web-based email address which will allow me to forward my messages to my PC-based email client?

Gmail (or any Google product) is not an option after the Blogger fiasco less than a year ago. I don't want the address pulled out from under me with little warning because I haven't upgraded my browser yet from the latest XP version of IE the way Blogger was. I'm working on the OS upgrade as fast as [livejournal.com profile] kk1raven can get Thunderbird to do what I need it to do, but in the meantime...

Help?

I think both hotmail and yahoo will allow forwarding to other accounts. Just checked hotmail—it will. You have to sign into your account every 270 days though, or it assumes its inactive.

That sounds exceptionally frustrating! I had a poke around on their support request board, but only saw your complaint there.

I have a paid account and have put in a request that they look into it. I don't realistically expect a response, but worth a try, I guess.

(I'd never heard of Spamhaus until now.)

And further, I got this response: LiveJournal Staff are aware of the issues with Spamhaus and are already addressing them.

Hopefully that's not just a standard response and it won't take them too long to sort out.
