I don't mind spending money on things for the house -- the new stove that arrived on Thursday has a working oven thermostat and is self-cleaning, and I'm thrilled to pieces over it.

It's throwing the exact same amount of money at a gizmo about the size of my two clenched fists (no, the comparison is not random) that died in my car less than five hours after the stove was delivered that annoys me greatly. Something called an O2 sensor. I don't want an O2 sensor. That money could have bought whole bolts of quilt fabric. Enough to fill my sewing room closet. Sigh.

On the bright side, I baked cookies (chocolate chip, natch) for the first time in ages on Thursday afternoon. And Chapter 12 is going so well it's scary.
