Yesterday was a good day. Drove up to Carbon River (the northwest entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park) and walked the nature trail through the forest. The air smells like paradise up there. Cool and damp and green. Had a picnic, and sat in my car with the windows down and my Alphasmart on my lap and started the bloody rewrites. Even the bloody rewrites were a pleasure in that location. A good start. Four pages yesterday and today. Wish I could be back there now.

On a completely different note, my sister and brother-in-law are going to be here a week from Wednesday for two days...
