But I find I don't enjoy that part of scribbling as much as I used to. Funny, because the romantic threads in stuff I read is some of my favorite parts of books. But I always suddenly get all panicky that I'm dumping my characters over into silly mushiness and purple prose, even when I'm assured by others that I'm not.

That said, Charley had an interesting revelation to share with me this morning. He's not in love yet. At this stage he's courting Emma because if he doesn't, he's not fulfilling his part of the Deal (not in the Jacksonian sense, thank goodness). This knowledge made everything suddenly become much less mushy and more real feeling, and will give things a much nicer punch at the end of the book.

So, yay Charley. It's so helpful when he deems to actually give me these insights instead of just dictating the story.

Started quilting the Bears in the Woods quilt, after purchasing purple quilting thread because the white looked awful. Pieced *all* the blocks of the wedding throw quilt -- they're up on the design wall on my sewing room, waiting for optimum arrangement.

And my house is clean.

You can tell I didn't have many hours at work this week...

Next week, OTOH, does not look pretty. Oh, well. Somebody has to earn the money to buy the cat food.

And I'm getting new lenses for my glasses, after the optometrist appt. this past week -- maybe I'll be able to see 18 count dark-on-dark cross stitch patterns well enough to do them again.
