New Amsterdam
Mar. 6th, 2008 07:42 pmDid anyone else happen to catch the pilot on Tuesday night? (in House's old timeslot after American Idol, which I avoid like the plague)
I was rather impressed, actually. Dutch settler on Manhattan Island in 1640s has a spell put on him by an Indian shaman, becomes immortal, and winds up as a -- homicide cop in modern-day New York City [g].
The lead actor is a rather nifty Danish (standing in for Dutch -- I guess from a 5000-mile perspective that's not too far off) unknown (at least to me), they didn't do a half-bad job with the historical bits, and the script had a sense of humor.
Anyway, if you're on the US west coast, there's another episode airing at 9 tonight, and it starts occupying its new regular time slot on Monday.
