Mostly I have what I call "Markov Chain" dream-sense. A friend wrote a simple computer program that will assimilate a text or texts (e.g., someone's fanfic series), and then spit out a random part of a sentence, and then whatever would logically follow that chunk of words for another chunk's worth, and so on and so on, which produces sentences and partial sentences that almost make sense.
In my case, my dreams often evolve mostly logically from what just happened a moment ago in the dream. But the "continuity memory" is very short (like the program only knows what the immediately prior sentence was), so as the dream evolves, it makes less and less overall sense. But every part of it makes sense in the moment!
If I'm lucky, and the dream is straightforward enough, it has a large chunk of Events That Actually Make Sense. ...and then I have to try really hard to remember them and string together enough of a plot to work with it. It's been a while since I've managed to do that enough to post more than snippets to DW or maybe Twitter. *sigh*
