Go to Smashwords via laptop, check.
Find title, check.
Click on buy, check.
Enter code, check.

Pick up Android phone (which has Kindle app; I've been reading Cross-Country with it).
Log in to Smashwords, check.
Find title, check. "You own this book."
Select "Download: mobi (Kindle)", check.
Download complete. Open doc. "Cannot find application to complete operation."

WAAHHHH!!

P.S.: Apparently while .mobi is NOT for Kindle on the Android, Aldiko can read .epub. I probably figured this out before, but it's a royal PITA to have to figure it out again because the website lies (or whatever they want to call it).

Sorry about that. I read on a Kindle, so I'm no help, I'm afraid. All I know is that .mobi works on a Kindle [wry g].
