mirroring to Facebook

Is it possible to mirror from DW or LJ to Facebook? If so, how?

And thanks to those who sent me funny stories. I needed them, and they helped.

I suspect it's going to take a while to pull out of this one, but every little bit...

I use the service If This, Then That, plus the syndicated feed of my public journal entries. Yours would be at http://mmegaera.dreamwidth.org/data/rss (it only shows locked stuff if you are logged in).

It works a la this recipe: https://ifttt.com/recipes/8100

My particular version is a little more complicated: I use a tag on DW to indicate whether I want it crossposted (by using the feed for that tag as described in http://www.dreamwidth.org/support/faqbrowse?faqid=117), and on Facebook's end have restricted posts originating from IFTTT to a security group who already knows who I really am.

Ooo, something like if RSS from your WordPress, then send an email to the Dreamwidth email-post address?

There's Dee's plugin, too: http://wordpress.org/plugins/journalpress/

Ah, alas wordpress.com.

Sorry about being confusing. The thing is, IFTTT doesn't have a "post to Dreamwidth" action. You would use the RSS feed from http://mmjustus.wordpress.com -- but what then? I was on the point of saying that it couldn't be done, but then I remembered that IFTTT has a "send email" action, and Dreamwidth has a "post by email" setting, so I think it might be able to be done. http://www.dreamwidth.org/manage/emailpost -- you'd have to set up action@ifttt.com as an allowed sender there, and then the mmegaera+YOURPINHERE@post.dreamwidth.org as the email address to send to.

I'm poking at IFTTT now and trying to see if I can get it set up so I can give the exact steps, but so far IFTTT is choking on http://mmjustus.wordpress.com/feed/ and claiming it's not an RSS feed, which it clearly is.

It looks like it's not filling in the title in the feed quite right -- it's coming out as <title/> rather than <title>title goes here</title>. So that's why IFTTT's choking on it. Hm.
