Can someone, off the top of their head, tell me the html code where you can click on a link and it will jump you down to a particular point on a webpage instead of taking you to a completely different page? I have a how-to book, but I can't figure out what to look that up under.

Thanks!

Oh, and my website has been updated, and here's the first chapter of Finding Home, the third book in my Yellowstone series.

1. Label the target location on the webpage with an anchor tag. It's safest not to use any spaces in the name:

<a name=name_of_location>optional_text</a>

2. Then you can make a URL that will point to that location with a pound sign:

http://web_page_URL#name_of_location

If you're putting the link on the same page as the target location, all you need is the last part:

#name_of_location

Lots of white space; reason to be explained below.

So this link should jump to the second item in my list. I'm adding a lot of white space because otherwise this paragraph might be so close to the top of the page that the jump wouldn't be visible.
