help??? -- IMDB has failed me!
Dec. 18th, 2012 07:03 pmI just saw The Hobbit this afternoon. After I barely managed to get out of my driveway because of a whopping two inches of snow (TLDR version -- next time I'm house-hunting, one of my top must-haves is going to be a place where I don't share my driveway, and it has no shaded curved hills).
Had a wonderful time. The riddle scene alone was worth the price of admission, and there were many, many other wonderful things to enjoy about it, even if the fighting went on too long in places, and some of the transitional and "business" bits ditto. And, ye godlings, the last thing I was expecting was a dwarf pretty enough to make my eyes widen, but Kili? Ye godlings. Even if he is young enough to be my kid. Yeah, Thorin, too, but Kili? My word.
And, perusing IMDB upon my return home, I find it highly amusing that the actor who voiced the Goblin King, who was even more repulsive-looking than most of the orcs of LotR (whoever the person was who imagined a beardlike appendage made of skin really must have horrible nightmares), was the same person who brought us Dame Edna Everidge, and that Radagast was played by Dr. Who with bird poo in his hair, but --
There was this elf. He's the very first one we see upon arrival in Rivendell, and I know that face, but I don't know the elf's name, and I don't recognize the name in the IMDB cast list, and I need to know who that fellow is. Help??? It's not Bret McKenzie.
