Last night I posted a comment on the National Parks Traveler blog, to a post talking about the oil boom in North Dakota and how it's affected Theodore Roosevelt National Park, which I visited last June.

This morning I received an email from a reporter from the CBS News morning show, asking me about my experiences while I was there.

First time anything like that has ever happened to me.

And, yes, she was legit. So I told her all about it [g].

Did you happen to mention your novels during the conversation? ["I was there for research on..."]

No, I didn't. The research angle wouldn't have been accurate (if she was asking me about Yellowstone, then yes, it would have, but I wasn't researching in ND, just exploring), and I couldn't think of another plausible segueway at the time.
