And the upshot of my complaint to the Washington State consumer advocate?

A new phone (the problem was that the old phone was not accepting the codes properly, and the new phone is quite the upgrade, too), with all my minutes and then some, and all my days and then some (as in three months worth), gratis for my trouble. And everything is set up and tried and it all works and updates automatically again.

And we all lived happily ever after.

Oh, and I never lost service, either.
