one final post on the cats
Mar. 6th, 2012 02:32 pmSo. The shelter I got Elli and Elena from originally is a no-kill shelter (one of the reasons I went there in the first place). I went to their website this morning. Turns out that all unknowing, part of the paperwork I signed when I brought Elli and Elena home was an agreement that if I could not keep them, I was to bring them back to the shelter.
So that's what I did. It was really, really hard, and I suspect I will feel incredibly guilty for a long time, and I don't think I'm going to be getting more cats any time soon, but--
I tried. I really did. I hope those two find a good crazy cat lady who will take them to the vet every time their anal glands get clogged (and won't mind them dragging their stinky butts across the carpet until they can get to the vet), and figure out a way to get them to actually eat their food and drink their water, and want to keep them indoors all the time, and will figure out a way to prevent their hairballs in a way that won't freak them out, and everything else. Because that's what it's going to take. A crazy cat lady.
Thanks to all of you for being so supportive.
I hope to get back to some good cheerful posts one of these days, because my journal seems to have become mostly negative lately. Here's hoping for some good up in the future.
