Yesterday, with the help of Richard, my trusty volunteer, I spray-adhesived 40+ printed panels onto foam core. Even though I was wearing a nose and mouth mask while doing the spraying, I'm still smelling the adhesive a little bit. I've gotten almost all (it's particularly persistent on fingernails, and gloves are not an option in this situation) of the overspray off my hands, though. Rubbing alcohol is my friend. Just for the record, I hate spray adhesive with the passion of a thousand suns. I wish there was a better option for this sort of thing, but there really isn't.

Today, after the panels had had a chance to cure over night, I spent the afternoon cutting them apart (one of the foam core sheets was 4x8 feet, the other two were four feet square) and trimming them. One of my interviewees happened to be in the museum, wandered over to see what I was doing, and discovered a typo on one of the panels [sigh], so I'll have to reprint and reglue that one. I'll do that when I make the artifact labels on Tuesday.

The board president (the lady who hired me) seemed to be very, very pleased with how everything looks, which pleases me no end.

I still can't quite get over how professional all the panels (esp. the big vinyl ones) look. Really weird.

Anyway, we tear down the old exhibit on Monday, and then I have four days to mount the new one (with help) before the new exhibit opens on Saturday.

And tomorrow I am going to a quilt show, dammit!
