How to put someone's DW username into a DW post or comment? What the HTML is? Thanks!

Like this:

<user name="annathepiper">

You can also get clever by specifying site if you want to mention a user elsewhere, like on LJ:

<user name="annathepiper" site="livejournal.com">

So these would get you [personal profile] annathepiper and [livejournal.com profile] annathepiper respectively.

There's a FAQ for LJ users here that should cover the differences in HTML use.

There's also a handy section at the bottom of each Dreamwidth profile to copy the code to link to DW users, on-site or off-site.

You're welcome. :D

I get a little thrill every time I see it there, because I was the one to file the request for that feature.

You're welcome! I think they may have chosen to generalize it to "user" so that they could specify the "site" argument.

You might find yourself saying that often.
