Please only read if you're not going to laugh or look appalled. I've already gotten those reactions. What I'm looking for is useful advice.

My CPU is relatively new (about three years old -- it runs XP, so it can't be *that* old). My keyboard and mouse are roughly contemporary to it. The rest of my peripherals are, well, ancient. As in I still have my original monitor and printer (hey, they still *work*) from when I bought my very first computer. 13 years ago.

But it's time. Or past time, I guess.

The main reason I haven't done anything about this before is that I've always been sort of intimidated about it. I don't know what to buy (as in brand, model, etc.), and I don't know what's a reasonable amount to spend.

I'm thinking I want an all-in-one printer/copier/scanner, and probably a 17" LCD monitor (although I have more than enough desk space for the old-fashioned kind, and if that's a better idea/price, I have no objection). I'm also in the market for a digital camera, and one of those neat little drives that's about the size of a key that you can put a gig of stuff on [g] -- are those called flash drives or stick drives or what? I can't seem to find a consensus on that.

Anyway. This year it's peripherals, in the next year or two it will probably be the CPU again [sigh]. Help?
