another question or three

So, in this process of moving over from LJ to DW, I've been subscribing to as much of my LJ FL as exists over here, or that I can find under the same usernames, at any rate (any advice on how to find people who might be on DW who I only know by their LJ username would be useful, short of sending PMs to each one -- I will post on LJ asking for them...).

Occasionally I've been seeing soandso.livejournal.com in people's DW FLs, too, which is kind of confusing. How does that work? Does that mean I can read people's LJs on DW? What about commenting? What about email notifications if someone replies to those comments?

Oh, and how do I get rid of that "most popular tags" thing in my sidebar?

I've been writing my entries in Dreamwidth but it forwards immediately to Livejournal, and I get comments in both places. Really not confusing; it doesn't matter which you read, though if you read both DW and LJ you'll see the same things at any given time. I even use the same icons, most of the time.

Thanks. I've had a DW account for a couple of years, but this is the first time I've really done anything with it.

I'm just so frustrated with LJ right now I could spit on them. But I feel like I'm leaving three-quarters of my FL behind because they don't have DW accounts, which is why I've always resisted making the move.

But LJ has made it pointless for me to comment on other people's journals now, because I don't get notified if they reply. It's like they want to chase people away.
