Longest distance ever traveled? As in how many miles I traveled on the trip? My long trip around the entire U.S. ten years ago. About 14,000 miles, IIRC. As in distance from my home? From near Seattle to the U.K. in 1996. The flight took me over the north pole [g].

Farthest North? Just north of Fairbanks, Alaska, when I was fourteen. We drove the Alaska Highway (1200 miles of it was gravel back then) to get there.

Farthest South? I haven't been that far south. Probably New Orleans or the panhandle of Florida.

Farthest East? The U.K. York, maybe? Or is Edinburgh farther east?

Farthest West? Either Homer or Tenana, Alaska. It's a toss-up.

Highest Mountain? Mt. Evans, Colorado. 14,240 feet. The highest road in the U.S. leads to the top.

Hottest Temp? 123dF in the bottom of the Grand Canyon when we rode the mules down when I was twelve.

Coldest temp? -25dF is the coldest one I remember. In Logan, Ohio, in 1989-90, I think. It broke a record for the date, IIRC.

ETA: Should add that the lowest elevation I've ever been at is 282 feet below sea level. In Badwater, Death Valley, California, when I was a kid, and in 1999.

There.

I have finished my final project for my first quarter of museum school, due this Saturday (the day after tomorrow).

I have designed an educational program for a local museum, located a foundation that might possibly fund it, and written a letter of inquiry.

The museum in question is the Job Carr Cabin Museum (of course), and the program would help Junior Girl Scouts earn their Local Lore badge.

This went entirely against my grain, you understand, because I was a Camp Fire Girl. But the guidelines for the Girl Scout badge were much clearer, and the website was much more informative. Camp Fire has gone downhill ever since they started letting boys in [g].

It's the Pemco commercials! All in one place!

Whoever dreamed up this ad campaign deserves to be a millionaire, I swear.

Of the continuum that is modern self and vanity publishing.
