Five things make a post

Anyway.
1) Is it just me or are people favoring tiny type sizes on their LJs now? I find myself more often than not having to "?style=mine" in order to read entries behind cuts and/or comments these days, and for once, I don't think it's my eyesight.
2) We broke a high temperature record yesterday. 90 degrees. In early June. It was hotter here yesterday than in the part of Texas where my mother lives. That's just Wrong. It is, however, supposed to drop back down to around 70 (which is the average high for early June) by tomorrow. Thank gods.
3) Does anyone know of a way to circumvent having to go through the formal interview process in order to find work? And, no, I'm not being facetious. I'm a good worker, and a lousy interviewee. Yeah, I've worked at it over the years. The fact remains that I can do all the batting practice I want, but when the pitcher fires that fastball at me, I'm going to flail madly so I don't get beaned. Anyway, I just thought I'd ask.
4) This is fascinating. I'm glad to hear that I'm actually following her advice without having known I was [wry g]. I did try, briefly, to sell my first novel, but I pulled it pretty quickly. And I wrote five more manuscripts before I felt I had one good enough to sell. So far that has not been proven, but I still have faith in it. Onward.
5) A sad note. Keith Carradine is dead, apparently suicide. Here's an article. I was never fond of the show Kung Fu, but I've always liked him as an actor. Go in peace...
