speaking of my last entry...
Jun. 16th, 2009 01:25 pmWhich had to do with the description of one's perfect vacation (via Writer's Block).
I have a quandary. Now don't get me wrong. I love where I live, and it would take wild horses and dynamite to move me away from here. I know exactly how lucky I am to live here (and I worked darned hard to get here, so I do appreciate it). After all, I'm two hours from the wild north Pacific Ocean, a bit more than that from Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park, and an hour and a half from Paradise [g] (the visitor center at Mt. Rainier). Not to mention an hour from Seattle and two hours from Portland, Oregon.
However. I've been living here for almost sixteen years. I have daytripped just about everywhere there is possible to daytrip around here. I make periodic -- well, pilgrimages might be overstating the case, but you see what I mean, I hope -- daytrips to places like Paradise and Hurricane Ridge and the coast.
But I want somewhere new. Alas, money is tight this summer, so traveling somewhere for more than a daytrip is sort of pushing it.
What's an itchy-footed person to do???
