Well, at least everything I could find of it. And at least for now. I suspect I will be pulling up shoots till doomsday.

Sometimes the plant that looks terrific at the nursery turns out to be the exact wrong plant for the space. I tried to ignore that simple fact for several years, but today I finally bit the bullet, dug that double pink Japanese anemone out, and flung it over the fence (my back yard backs up onto the meadow that overlies the septic field for my condo building -- it's a time-honored tradition to fling garden detritus over that fence and all my neighbors do it as well).

It had beautiful, if double and floppy flowers, but it took up one heck of a lot of space in my small flower bed, shoving other plants out of its way, and said flowers did not show up until the middle of September.

So it's history.

Oh, and another potentially passive-aggressive "sneaking it in so it gets said because I need it to be said but hopefully won't draw down any negative attention" add-on.

I have been running up against (and doing it what feels like literally) various people's opinions on the subject of introversion lately, and I want to say here definitively that the ability to get up in front of crowds is the antithesis of introversion, whether you need solitary time to refuel as opposed to being around other people to refuel or not.

There is absolutely no way you are going to convince me that the term introvert performer is not an oxymoron. Period. End of discussion. Anyone who comments trying to persuade me otherwise will -- well, I'm not sure what, but it will be seriously hurtful to me if they do. So please don't.

Some things just are.
