Daylight Savings Time
Mar. 1st, 2009 10:04 pmI just read a rant against it in someone else's LJ, who stated up front that she didn't want to read anyone disagreeing with her in the comments.
So I'll disagree with her here, where it's my LJ and I can say whatever I want.
I love and adore Daylight Savings Time. With a passion. I wish we could just stay on DST all year round with an extra hour of it in the summertime, frankly, and I'll tell you why. I am a night owl who is sensitive to daylight that happens too early. I have a hard time getting to sleep much before midnight, and when dawn happens at five in the morning and wakes me up whether I'm ready or not? The result is seriously ugly. I also have a borderline case of SAD. So I vastly prefer to have my daylight in the late afternoon and evening when it's actually useful to me.
When I lived in Montana, I was in a small town at the very western edge of MST. In June, it didn't get dark until 10 pm. It was so wonderful. My mood was wonderful, I accomplished so much, it was fabulous.
So anyone who is against DST? Just. Go. Away. Just because it doesn't work well for you doesn't mean it's bad, period.
Only seven more days to go!!!
