Because posts like this do. Offend me deeply.
This type of post is very common on published writers' and agents' blogs, and I understand what they're trying to say. It's the way they say it that is just ugly.
Note, I am not asking to be told that I'm wasting my time with this reaction or that I'm too thin-skinned or that's just the way the business works, or any of the rest of the platitudes. I'm not complaining about the message (or at least I'm not asking to be told how I should react to the message). I'm complaining about the presentation, and the assumptions this particular style of presentation makes about the people it's aimed at. So please don't get all condescending on me. Thanks.
