a new quilt

I just finished it this afternoon. It's for a friend, who's been my friend for 43 years (we met in first grade), who is going through a divorce and just moved into her own apartment. Her favorite color when we were kids was red, and she's a music person, hence the fabric choices. The pattern is called Warm Wishes, and is a very simple one, but I dressed it up by using 20 different red fabrics, and by hand-quilting it.


The whole quilt, obviously.


And a detail of the quilt design I used in each red square, as well as a glimpse of the black fabric.

I'm going to mail it off to her tomorrow.
