Lord Miles Naismith Vorkosigan, of course [g]. Lord Auditor Vorkosigan in preference to Admiral Naismith, but not by much.
I love him because he grows and changes more than any other fictional character I've ever run across, while staying utterly true to himself all the way through a dozen books.
Walter Peabody "Ramses" Emerson runs him a fairly close second, as well.
There are fictional characters I hate, but not really any that I can recall that bug me, specifically. And the ones I hate are mostly the ones you're supposed to hate (the bad guys).
