then the silly
Jan. 6th, 2008 02:38 pmThe Seahawks won their first playoff game of the season yesterday, over the Washington Redskins. Not without the spending of a whole lot of adrenaline during the fourth quarter, when they almost pulled defeat from the jaws of victory, but the bottom line is that they won.
There's a lot of folks out there in the rest of the country who were sentimentally wishing the Redskins would win -- and, granted, they have good reason. But please don't try to spoil our party, okay? I mean, we didn't want to pull a crossball on them...
Oh, and Pittsburgh lost last night [eg]. Now I am going to get genuinely petty-minded. Ever since the Super Bowl two years ago, which was about as rigged as a certain presidential election I won't mention here (would that that election had had as unimimportant a set of results), my favorite team has been the Seahawks and whoever beats the Steelers. Go, Jags!
Okay, I'll drop the petty-mindedness now. If the Seahawks will just get some respect from the rest of the NFL, that is...
Yeah, it's just a game. Sue me [g].
