For those who are little more, um, grown-up....
1. What bill do you hate paying the most?
They all take my money...

2. Where was the last place you had a romantic dinner?
Can't remember.

3. Do you regret losing your virginity to who you lost it to?
No, not really.

4. If you could go back and change one thing what would it be?
The thing is, any one thing I'd pick would set off such a butterfly effect that I'm not sure I'd be happy I picked it.

5. Name of your first grade teacher?
Mrs. Jackson, who was tall, dark-haired, and had an awful lot of teeth.

6. What do you really want to be doing right now?
Not procrastinating.

7. What did you want to be when you were growing up?
Architect, librarian, writer, singer (hopeless, since I can't carry a tune), horticulturalist...

8. How many colleges did you attend?
Six. Five undergrad (don't ask) and one grad.

9. Why did you choose the shirt that you have on right now?
It was on the top of the t-shirt pile? It's my Crater Lake t-shirt, and brings back good memories (I have a lot of national park t-shirts).

10. What are your thoughts on gas prices?
Ambivalent. What we need is for oil companies to start calling themselves energy companies, and for the name change to matter on way more than a symbolic level.

11. If you could move anywhere and take someone with you were would it be?
This is home. Wild horses and dynamite couldn't drag me away, esp. since it took me many years of conscious choices and giving up things to get here. I am far more place-oriented than people-oriented.

12. First thought when the alarm went off this morning?
Alarm?

13. Last thought before going to sleep last night?
There, I finished HP7. What was with that bleeding epilog???

14. Favorite style of underwear?
Cotton.

15. Favorite style of underwear for the opposite sex?
Briefs.

16. What errand/chore do you despise?
Cleaning house. I can't think of a single housecleaning chore I enjoy.

17. If you didn't have to work, would you volunteer?
It's not as easy to find volunteer work as you'd think. Organizations seem to want money more than time. I have time, but not much money. I would love to teach literacy again, but the local literacy organization put me through their training, then did nothing with me, no matter how many times I called to check in.

18. Get up early or sleep in?
Sleep. Not a morning person unless forced or something Really Exciting is going to happen that day.

19. What is your favorite cartoon character?
Don't really have one.

20. Favorite (non-salty) thing to do at night with a girl/guy?
Go to the movies, probably.

21. Have you found real love yet?
I thought I did, does that count?

22. When did you first start feeling old?
When I had my shoulder surgery.

23. Favorite 80's movie?
Housekeeping.

24. Your favorite lunch meat?
Deli ham. Or deli turkey with avocado.

25. What do you get every time you go into Sam's Club?
I don't belong to Sam's Club. Or Costco, for that matter. They both seem a bit overkill for a single person.

26. Beach or lake?
Beach. Although I like both.

27. Do you think marriage is an outdated ritual?
Marriage needs to be split up into religious marriage and legal union (which should have the exact same legal rights and responsibilities as marriage currently has). Any small group of people should be able to do legal union. Who any given religion wishes allow to marry to is up to its members. As long as it doesn't have any legal ramifications.

That said, on a personal level, I need to be hit upside the head with a big brick if I ever start talking about doing anything like that again myself.

28. Do you own property?
Yes, a condo.

29. Favorite guilty pleasure?
Popcorn movies with lots of special effects. At 48, well, I have a very well-developed inner ten-year-old.

30. Favorite movie you wouldn't want anyone to find out about?
Um, Mulan?

31. What's your drink?
Iced tea with lemon. Or non-fat milk. Or ice water with lemon.

32. Cowboys or Indians?
Indians.

33. Cops or Robbers?
Neither.

34. Who from high school would you like to run into?
Debi Shively, maybe?

35. What radio station is your car radio tuned to right now?
KOMO 1000. A 24-hour news station, except when they're blaring baseball.

36. Norm or Cliff?
Cliff. The trivia junky is a very familiar pleasure for me.

37. 'The Cosby Show' or 'The Simpson's'?
Simpsons, although I seldom watched either.

38. Worst relationship mistake that you wish you could take back?
Marrying my first husband. Although that's a butterfly effect thing again, so I'm not sure how my life would have turned out if I hadn't, and I'm also not sure I wouldn't have learned a lot of things if I hadn't. As Ekaterin (in A Civil Campaign by Lois McMaster Bujold) once thought, roots grow deep in the dark.

39. Do you like the person who sits directly across from you at work?
Not working outside the home at the moment. I do like the cats...

40. What famous person would you like to have dinner with?
Kenneth Branagh.

41. Indoors or Outdoors?
Outdoors if the weather's good.

42. Have you ever crashed your vehicle?
Yes. I've rear-ended someone twice, and I rolled my car once. Survived almost completely unscathed all three times.

43. Have you ever had to use a fire extinguisher for its intended purpose?
No.

44. Last book you read for real?
HP7 last night.

45. Do you have a teddy bear?
No, but I have a stuffed Taz. Does that count?

46. Strangest place you have ever brushed your teeth?
I used to go camping a lot, so unusual is in the eye of the beholder.

47. Somewhere in California you've never been and would like to go?
I grew up in California. Can't think of anywhere I haven't already been.

48. Do you go to church?
No.

49. At this point in your life would you rather start a new career or a new relationship?
Career. And I'm trying...
