this almost makes me want my gall bladder back

Behind for TMI.

I thought I was doing pretty well considering that it's been less than a week since my surgery. But I seem to have pulled a muscle (gods know *how*, since I haven't been *doing* anything) on the righthand side of my waist towards the back that makes it hurt to draw a deep breath. Since the only thing they're going to be able to do for me is prescribe more painkillers, which I don't particularly want and already have plenty of, I guess it's just a matter of a lot of ice and waiting it out.

And, yes, I've talked to the medical folks, whose response is, well, if it gets much worse, get someone to bring you in, and why did you quit taking the Oxycontin if you're still hurting (mainly because the *last* thing a person with stitches in her abdomen needs is -- sorry, TMI -- constipation, and no, nothing I've taken to counteract it is enough to, er, counteract anything), so no, they're not much help.

But this *really* isn't fair...

If I'm not back to normal in the two weeks they said was standard (pulled muscle or no pulled muscle, related or not related -- if they're not going to be fair then neither am I), something really really nasty is going to hit the wall. This is worse than the attack that sent me to the ER in the first place, if only because it's not going *away* in a couple of hours like that did.

Having the friend who's been helping me out be someone who went back to work three days after she had hers out year before last isn't helping my ego, either. I know I'm whinging. But this was supposed to be a piece of cake! That's what everyone kept telling me...
