Anyway, I am officially having my gall bladder out. After 46 years of never having been a patient in a hospital, now I'm having my second surgery in less than a year and a half [sigh]. It turns out that what happened on my birthday was almost certainly a gall bladder attack, since according to the ultrasound I have a gallstone the size of Mt. Rushmore.
Anyway. Surgery on June 4th. Laparoscopic, so I should only be down for the count for two weeks, max (my friend L had hers out a couple of years ago, and she was back at work three days later -- but L has the constitution of an ox, and I mean that in the nicest possible way).
At least this won't be followed up by six months of physical therapy like last time...
