promised kitty photos
Jun. 30th, 2012 03:03 pmI just got back from an hour of kitten bonding, which included a Very Tiny Accident on my shirt [wry g]. I also got purred at by both of them, as well as snuggled (all cats of any size seem to love my, ahem, front porch).
The boys are noticeably bigger -- each weighs about 13 oz. now, so has a bit over a pound to go before they can come home. They've just started eating solids, so that should go pretty quickly. The eight-week-old kittens are about twice the size of these guys, and that's only three weeks from now.
Please be careful now... The cuteness ahead is pretty much terminal.

This is Theodore. I had thought about keeping the name Domingo, but when I was in Theodore Roosevelt National Park on my trip, I thought Theodore would be a nifty cat name, so I decided to change his name. It's not like a 5-week-old kitten was responding to it yet, anyway. At any rate, here is Theo, chomping away on the bottle instead of drinking from it.

This is Ivan. Obviously this whole situation is Not His Fault [g]. You can see some of the off-white on his belly in this shot. Both kittens' eyes are still blue. It'll be interesting to see what color they turn out to be, since the fosterer lady never met either of their parents. Ivan has some very faint tabby markings, too, but he's much lighter overall than his brother.

Theo's back. His tabby markings are much more visible from here, although I didn't manage to get a photo of the cute little spots all over his tummy. The guy to his right is his so-far unadopted brother Boris.

Ivan's back. He's really silky. Not quite to Morgan's rabbit fur, but eminently pettable. And both of them have ears that bend over just slightly at the tip.
Three more weeks. I hope that's all. Just three more weeks.
