I spent the day in the dungeon
Actually, only part of the day, and the basement of the Fife History Museum is more like a cross between a pretty clean dungeon and the Augean stables, but still.
Today's project was to go through the rest of the basement and find any textiles that still need cataloging and proper storage.
I found four large bins full plus assorted other smaller amounts scattered about. Probably at least three more months work (given that I'm only there one day a week). Oy. It's a good thing they're renewing my contract. I think this is what's called job security.
OTOH, there's some really cool pre-WWII Japanese stuff in one of those bins (in addition to the kimonos I've been working on for the last three weeks). One of the U.S. military uniforms appears to be WWI vintage. And, best of all, a 1924 felt pennant from the USS Arizona. I swear, this gig is like Christmas.
Also? It's amazing how much alike the sound of a cat's claws on the outside of the refrigerator and human fingernails on a chalkboard sound. I can't figure out why Elli keeps doing that. It's not like she can sharpen her claws on it. We are extremely unamused.
