is there a Photoshop maven in the house?
Jun. 15th, 2011 03:35 pmI have a copy of Photoshop (the newest edition -- 5.5). It came as part of the software package I bought at the educational price last month. Because the class I took that enabled me to buy the software was in InDesign (also part of the same software package) not Photoshop, I have no idea what I'm doing in Photoshop.
The problem is, I have this image. It's a backlit photo of an erupting geyser (see icon -- the image I'm working with is much larger). See that one spot where the sun is shining through brightly, just to the left of near the top of the main water burst? I need to dim that one spot just a bit, enough to where white lettering will contrast enough to be readable (it contrasts enough in the bright area to the right of the water, so it doesn't need to be dimmed much). I'd rather not dim the whole image unless that's my only choice.
Can anyone tell me how to do that in Photoshop? Pretty please with sugar on top and a cherry?
Thanks!
