well, yay!
Oct. 10th, 2010 11:09 pmI actually worked on piecing the flame quilt (see icon) for the first time in about two months. And I discovered that the pieces I cut wrong back in June the last time I worked on it resulted in me not having enough left of a particular fabric. So I crossed my fingers and, sample in hand, went back to the quilt shop where I'd bought said fabric about nine months ago to see if they had any more this afternoon. AND THEY DID!!! Lady who cut my yard and sold it to me told me I really should go buy a lottery ticket. Because this never happens. It's always sold out. Not this time... [eg]
The daylily from heck is officially uprooted and over the back fence into the septic field, too (thanks to my friend L's sturdy teenage granddaughter), and I have pansies to put in the tubs for the winter once I yank the summer's petunias.
Now if it will just stop raining long enough to plant the bulbs, the pansies, and the two asters I bought to fill the spot where the daylily from heck used to live.
Oh, and I need to bring in the cyclamen and the pineapple sage one of these days before it gets too cold. Speaking of which, I actually ran the heat for the first time this fall today [sigh].
