a yay! and a question
First the yay! I finished the rough (very rough) draft of Dorothy's POV half of True Gold today! Been working on this one off and on for way too long. Now it's on to Emma's half.
And the question. One thing about Netflix -- it opens up a whole new world of possibilities. And one of those is the luxury of watching TV series from beginning to end without having to record or whatever. Trouble is, I've watched all the series I can think of that I'm interested in (well, except for Remington Steele, which is next up on the list, but it's also last up on the list, hence my question).
I'm looking for more series, current or long-since-ended, to put on my Netflix queue. The most important qualification so far as I'm concerned is that it be populated with people and relationships that I can get involved in and root for, and have an interesting ambiance. This leaves out House and its ilk (like Lie to Me), because while I like them, I can only take them in small doses due to the uninteresting relationships and obnoxious people, not multiple episodes at a time. And there are some shows, like The Mentalist, which I cannot watch because Simon Baker makes me want to grit my teeth and throw rotten vegetables at the TV screen, which is counterproductive.
Oh, and as I mentioned on
fajrdrako's LJ, much as I like the premises of a lot of the HBO/Showtime shows, I can't deal with the violence -- Rome and Deadwood, I'm looking at you. The sex is fine. That level of violence, no.
Here's a list of series I've already watched all the way through, so you can get an idea:
Firefly
The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.
Dr. Who (#s 9 & 10 -- not really interested in the older Doctors)
Torchwood
Numb3rs
Bones
Northern Exposure
The Dresden Files
Anyone have any other suggestions?
And, just for the record, yay! again!
