back from Texas

mmegaeraAfter a week, and after celebrating my birthday yesterday (how did I get to be 51 years old? -- I don't feel a day over thirty...). I am way behind on my FL, so if you wished me a happy birthday, thank you [g].
I always feel like Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz when I get back from Texas. "There's no place like home, there's no place like home." It's a whole different world down there, although I hesitate to think of here as Kansas and Texas as Oz. More vice versa, and I'm happy with that, frankly. Well, you get the point. And, man, their newspaper editorials scare the bejeebers out of me.
It's going to take me a while to catch up on email, let alone LJ (what little Internet connection I had down there was pretty weak and sporadic). Be patience, please. I'll get back to you soon.
