80 lines about one person, from [livejournal.com profile] autographedcat.

Behind the .

1. What curse word do you use the most?
I've never really kept track.

2. Do you own an iPod?
No. I bought an MP3 player a few weeks ago, but I haven't messed with it yet. I bought it for my audiobooks. I don't listen to much music, not because I don't like it, I just don't.

3. What person on your flist do you talk to the most?
In person? [livejournal.com profile] pstratt. We get together for lunch every once in a while. He's one of just a couple local-to-me people on my FL, come to think of it. Most of my local friends aren't on LJ.

4. What time is your alarm clock set to?
8:30 am ATM.

5. Do you still remember the first person you kissed?
Oh, yeah [g]. His name was John, and we were in the very back row of the high school theater during a rehearsal of A Midsummer Night's Dream.

6. Do you remember where you were on 9/11/01?
Yosemite National Park. I've elaborated about that elsewhere so I won't do it again here.

7. Would you rather take the picture or be in the picture?
Take the picture. Definitely. Been that way all my life, which has resulted in a very sparse photo record of myself.

8. What was the last movie you watched?
Last night I rewatched my DVD of Brokeback Mountain. Ye godlings, that movie makes me hope reincarnation really is, because I want those two to have a real chance to be together in the worst way. It's all the more poignant now that Heath Ledger is gone, too.

9. Do any of your friends have children?
One has grandchildren [g].

10. Has anyone ever called you lazy?
Not to my face.

11. Do you ever take medication to help you fall asleep?
No. About the only time I have insomnia is just before that time of the month, which is a recent development now that my body has begun its incredibly indecisive journey towards menopause.

12. What CD is currently in your CD player?
The soundtrack to Ken Burns's miniseries about Lewis and Clark. Which begins with the narration, "April the eighth, 1804." April 8th is my birthday [g]. The music's lovely, too.

13. Do you prefer regular or chocolate milk?
Regular milk. Definitely. Unless I'm at the Wilcox Farms booth at the Puyallup Fair. That's the only time I drink flavored milk of any kind, but I usually get strawberry, not chocolate.

14. Has anyone told you a secret this week?
If they did, they didn't say it was a secret.

15. When was the last time you had Starbucks?
Ptui. I don't do coffee.

16. Can you whistle?
"Whistling girls and crowing hens, always come to some bad ends." At least according to my mother. I've been able to whistle (and pretty well) ever since about halfway through my braces in sixth grade.

17. What is the first thing you notice about the opposite sex?
I don't know.

18. What are you looking forward to?
Seeing what Dorothy does next (Dorothy is the POV character of the latest opus).

19. Did you watch cartoons as a child?
Yes. On Saturday mornings, on the floor in front of the tv, with a waffle.

20. Do you own any band t-shirts?
No, but I own a dozen or more national park t-shirts.

21. What will you be doing in one hour?
Watching a TV show I'm recording, probably.

22. Is anyone in love with you?
I don't think so. If they are, they haven't said so.

23. What was the last song you heard?
I can't remember. I don't listen to much music.

24. Last time you cried?
I leaked a few tears at the end of the movie last night. But I cry in the movies at the drop of a hat.

25. Are you on a desktop computer or a laptop?
Desktop. I only use the netbook for internet when I'm not home (or when I need to update its virus protection so I can use it online away from home). That's deliberate. I do not want to get in the habit of using the netbook to go online at home, because that's my writing computer.

26. Are you currently wanting any piercings or tattoos?
Shudder. That would be a no. I don't even have pierced ears.

27. What's the weather like?
Forties and rainy. After it hit 60+ on Sunday [sigh].

28. Would you ever date a girl/guy covered in tattoos?
Probably not. I really do have a physical aversion to the whole concept and it would be hard to get past that. I have friends with tattoos, but they're not in-your-face tattoos.

29. What did you do before this?
Before answering these questions? I was reading my FL. Before getting online this evening? Watching the evening news and eating supper.

30. When is the last time you slept on the floor?
The last time I can remember sleeping on the floor was in a cabin at Canyon at Yellowstone that a couple of friends had rented. They were paying, they got the beds. But that was over ten years ago. I had a foam pad and a nice thick sleeping bag, and had had a very bad night's sleep the night before, so I was out like a rock.

31. How many hours of sleep do you need to function?
Eight or slightly more. But I don't nap at all.

32. Do you eat breakfast daily?
Yes. And it needs to be breakfast food. Not overly fond of eggs for breakfast, either. Picky? Yeah.

33. Are your days fast-paced?
No.

34. What did you do last night?
Watched Brokeback Mountain and cross-stitched.

35. Do you use sarcasm?
Not often. I'm not very good at it.

36. How old will you be turning on your next birthday?
51. How on earth did that happen? Mentally I'm still in my twenties.

37. Are you picky about spelling and grammar?
I used to be a proofreader in a former life. The training stuck.

38. Have you ever been to Six Flags?
Six Flags Magic Mountain, just north of Los Angeles, when I was a teenager. Other than that, no.

39. Do you get along better with the same sex or the opposite sex?
That's a very strange question. I get along with some people, and I don't get along with some people. Their sex doesn't have much correlation in the matter.

40. Do you like mustard?
Only on ham sandwiches and in very small amounts in deviled eggs. And I prefer "yellow paint," as my sister calls it, to the spicy stuff.

41. Do you sleep on your side?
Yes. Either one.

42. Do you watch the news?
Less often than I used to. I will turn on the local news to get the occasional weather report. I also check that sort of thing online, but I sometimes like to be told about it rather than read about it.

43. How did you get one of your scars?
I had shoulder surgery about, gods, four years ago now.

44. Who was the last person to make you mad?
Probably my sister. To whom everything is black and white and context means nothing. She is incredibly narrow-minded and judgmental. But I do much better with my family of choice than I do with my biological family, anyway.

45. Do you like anybody?
I like lots of people. I'm not in a romantic relationship, though, if that's what you mean.

46. What is the last thing you purchased?
A folder to contain my exhibits project, due Saturday.

47. What side of the heart do you draw first?
The left, I think. [checks] No, actually, the right.

48. Can you dive without plugging your nose?
Er, I can't dive. Never learned how.

49. What colour is your razor?
Pink. I hate pink as a feminine default like that.

50. What is your blood-type?
I should know, but I don't. I could probably look it up in my records on the Group Health website, but I can't be bothered.

51. Who would you want to be tied to for 24 hours?
No, thank you.

52. What is a rumour someone has spread about you?
I have no idea.

53. How do you feel about carrots?
Please don't cook them. I like them raw, though.

54. How many chairs at the dining room table?
Three. The table's up against a wall for space reasons.

55. Which is the best Spice Girl?
After my time.

56. Do you know what time it is?
Do I really care? -- sorry, I had to leave this one from [livejournal.com profile] autographedcat. It's just too perfect. It's about 8:15 pm, though, if that matters (I'm one of those antiques who still wears a wristwatch).

57. Do you know all the words to the Fresh Prince Theme Song?
After my time. I used to know the words to the theme from M*A*S*H, though, and they weren't even sung on the show.

58. What would you do if you were stuck in an elevator?
Panic. I'm slightly claustrophobic when it comes to manmade enclosures. I'm acrophobic the same way (on manmade heights). Natural heights or enclosed spaces don't bother me, oddly enough.

59. What's your favourite kind of gum?
I can't chew gum. I have TMJ and chewing gum makes my jaw sore.

60. T or F: All's fair in love and war?
F. Neither one is fair at all. And, yes, I'm deliberately misunderstanding the question.

61. Do you have a crush on anyone?
I have at least one literary crush, and for this crowd I probably don't have to name names. I occasionally find myself admiring someone onscreen in that sort of way. I've been disconcerted doing so a couple of times in the last few years because doing that to someone who's young enough to be my kid is icky.

62. Do you know how to use some words correctly, but not know the meaning?
From context? Yes. Or at least not be able to verbalize the meaning.

63. Do you like to sleep?
Oh, yes. Sometimes I have a hard time getting myself into bed/to put the book down, but, yes.

64. Do you know which US states don't use Daylight Savings Time?
Arizona? Hawaii? Maybe Alaska? Indiana used to be divided into at least three sections, some of which observed it and some of which didn't, which was very confusing, but I think they've done away with that nonsense.

65. Do you know the song Total Eclipse of the Heart?
I don't think I've ever heard of it before. Probably after my time again.

66. Do you want a bright yellow '06 mustang?
I wouldn't want to drive a bright yellow anything. If I did, I'd become a school bus driver.

67. What's something you've always wanted?
To be published.

68. Do you have hairy LEGS?
None of your business [g].

69. Would you rather swim in the ocean or a lake?
I'd rather swim in a pool, but if I have to swim in a natural body of water, probably a lake. The last natural body of water I spent any time in was the Missouri River, though.

70. Do you wear a lot of black?
Very seldom, although my interview suit is black. I prefer jewel tones.

71. Describe your hair:
Short and thin and almost black, with more silver threads showing up every day.

72. Do you have Entomophobia?
No, not really, since spiders aren't bugs.

73. Are you an adult?
Only when I can't avoid it.

74. Where is/are your best friend(s)?
North Carolina and Washington state for the two most important. My childhood best friend is in California.

75. Do you have a tan?
No. I turn red then I turn white again. Occasionally I add a few freckles. Sometimes, by the very end of summer, when I was young and wore shorts a lot and lived in a hotter climate, you could see the bare beginnings of a tan line, but that was it.

76. Are you a television addict?
No. I do have several shows I follow every week, but that's about it.

77. Do you enjoy spending time with your mother?
I love my mother, don't get me wrong, but there's too much about who I am that would upset her (she's almost 86, and upsets easily), and so being around her for any length of time makes me feel constrained and uncomfortable.

78. Are you a sugar freak?
Yes [sigh]. I have a horrible sweet tooth. I inherited it from my father.

79. Do you like orange juice?
It's okay. Not my favorite.

80. What sign are you?
Aries.
