Well, I just bought my first netbook about a month ago, so I haven't had a chance to take it on vacation with me yet (it will be going to Texas with me to visit my mother in April, so that will be its first longer-than-a-daytrip), and this is the first non-desktop computer I've ever owned.
I do plan to, however. And it's already gone on daytrips with me. I bought it partly as a replacement for my dying Alphasmart, so I do my rough drafting on it. I have been known to write everywhere from the recliner in my living room (being careful that no cats are in harm's way) to Yellowstone National Park with the Alphie, and I don't foresee any changes in that modus operandi in the near or distant future.
