Writer's Block: Raining cats or dogs?

I am not much fun to be around when I'm catless.
I like dogs just fine, even having been bitten twice in my life (both as a child, both probably my fault). I'm not overly fond of German shepherds in particular (the worst bite was inflicted by one), or large dogs that don't look friendly. But dogs in general are okay.
But they don't purr. Purring is essential.
So I am a cat person, pretty much full stop.
Anyone who lives with me would have to live with my cats. I have been in situations where I was unable to have a cat, and I refuse to do so again. In turn, I would be pretty dubious about living with a dog. I never have, not in my whole life. And I don't think my cats would like it at all, either [g].
Set in my ways? Moi?
