mmegaera | a blog aggregator

I know I can do some of this through LJ. I'd rather keep it separate from my LJ friendslist, though. I've tried Google's aggregator, but it's cumbersome and slow. Is there a better aggregator out there? Something along the line of the equivalent of an email program?
