okay, I suspect I may be crazy
Dec. 18th, 2011 03:01 pmHowever. It's not the first time I've been accused of that. And it certainly won't be the last.
1) I have come to a grinding halt on True Gold's first draft. What I really, really need is someone to bang ideas with. My former idea banger is no longer up to the job (I need someone who can consistently email back and forth with on a daily basis for an indefinite period for this job). If anyone knows of anyone who would like the position and understands the needs of being accurate historically and of the absolute necessity of the daily contact, I would give my eyeteeth to be introduced. Failing that, I am halting the draft what I think/p/r/a/y is about 3/4 of the way through, and am going back to do revisions on what I do have, in the hope/p/r/a/y/e/r that by the time I do all the work on what I do have, I'll be in a better place to reach the end of the story (and I won't be having the almost overwhelming urge to go back and rewrite the whole thing from Will's point of view -- I still want to have this thing done by spring, which would not be possible if I did this). I have the last line... But then I've had the last line for far longer than I want to admit to. "Will? Who's that child?"
2) After eighteen years of having one motif in my living room, I have decided to put all the stuff with that motif in storage (if I can cram it all in the upstairs landing closet), and change to another motif entirely. This would be a relatively simple change if I was just going to go out and buy the new stuff, but I'm not constitutionally capable of just going out and buying the new stuff. No, the new motif is going to require a new quilted sofa throw, and probably half a dozen new cross-stitched pictures. Maybe I'll have it all done by two Christmases from now... Or not [wry g].
P.S. Seahawks 38, Bears 14! Woo-hoo!
