So I'm probably the only person here who hadn't seen Love, Actually. I don't remember how it landed on my Netflix queue, but it finally wound its way to my mailbox -- yesterday, I think. And I watched it tonight. And it was adorable. That little kid who played Liam Neeson's son was one hell of a good little actor. And I could watch Colin Firth read the phone book just on general principles, but he outdid himself in the "oh, my gosh, that man is cute" category.

I am ever more convinced that Martin Freeman is going to make an excellent hobbit. He's got the open, ingenuous face for it.

But Billy Bob Thornton as the U.S. President? That's worse than Michael Douglas and Kevin Kline put together, squared. Which, I suppose, was the point.

And now I want to see Hugh Grant as the prime minister in Harry Potter 7 (who played the prime minister in that, anyway? [googles] they didn't film that part? that was the only decent part of HP 7 to begin with -- and no, I haven't seen it, obviously).

Anyway, whoever said I should watch Love, Actually, thanks. I managed more than a few belly laughs while watching it, and I like belly laughs.
