This is odd
Oct. 31st, 2010 04:24 pmI've owned my dead tree copy of CryoBurn for over a week now. I haven't read it yet.
I did read the text in another incarnation a couple of months ago, but the point is, any other Vorkosiverse book I'd have reread three times by now.
Very strange. And, no, it's not because of how it ends. I'm pretty sure it's because of how it's structured. It reminds me of nothing more than The Borders of Infinity (the novella, not the entire anthology). Too much thematic material and not enough character development for my taste. And the "worst thing" is in the wrong place.
But still. It's Vorkosiverse. This is just Wrong.
