hot weather is good for some things

Obviously. The last three 90+F (33+C) degree days days have popped all sorts of things out. See?


Houston, we have petunias! Finally!


And bachelor's buttons. In spite of the fact that these were the main flowers in my first wedding bouquet, I still love them to pieces.


The fairy rose has busted out all over.


As has the threadleaf coreopsis, which I have got to remember to put one of those circular stake thingys over early in the spring so it won't be so floppy. Which I say every year about this time [sigh].


And my daylily, which makes lovely flowers on very short stems, for some strange reason.
