FL pruning again

I do not intend to slight anyone, or hurt anyone's feelings, or anything else of that nature. However. I am starting a full time job (office hours, M-F) next week, after two years of -- well, it wasn't unemployment per se, since it was mostly voluntary. But it amounts to the same thing -- gobs and gobs of free time I will no longer have at my disposal. And, on top of that, I am starting school all day on Saturdays (not every Saturday, but most) on October 1st. If I am going to make even a vaguely half-assed attempt to keep current with my LJ, well, you see where this is going [wry g].

If I defriend you, it's only in the LJ sense of the term. If I have and there's something you want me to know, please feel free to email me, either through LJ (which I may take a while to respond to) or via my regular email address if you already possess it (I'm not going to broadcast it now -- that would be sort of counterproductive [g]).

And now I'm going to go and try to prune my FL down to a reasonable size. I suspect it's going to be like trying to clean out my closet -- "but I like that top, I don't want to get rid of it!" And do feel free to laugh if my list is still too long after I get done. But I'm going to try, and that's what counts, dammit.

How do I leave communities and get them off my profile page? I can't find an option anywhere that does that -- the "edit friends" page doesn't do it, even if you uncheck the appropriate box.
