mmegaera: (fireworks)
Either I'm doing something wrong, or everyone's lying, or it's just me being hypersensitive again, but --

There is no way to convince me that you get as much light out of a compact fluorescent bulb as you do the equivalent incandescent. I have switched over to CLs in non-essential areas (porch lights, ceiling fixtures, etc.), but the difference in wattage output is more than just visible to me. I would like to switch over completely, but I would go blind trying to sew or do needlework by the light of a 60-watt equivalent CF, where I have no problem whatsovever doing needlework by the light of a 60-watt incandescent.

What's the deal?
