I picked up my copy of Horizon at the library today. I just finished it this evening.
I didn't like it as well as Passage, but better than the other two (not that it would take much).
I like the people okay (not as well as Ista or Miles, or, for that matter Ramses or Amelia, but okay), I just don't like the world they live in -- not the Midwest part, but the fantasy elements. Given that my reaction to the climax was, oh, ick, not malices again, I suspect the reason I liked Passage best was that it didn't have any. And the reason Horizon is second best because of the lack of obnoxious relatives. But if I'm liking them better for what they don't contain? Not a win. Oh, well.
