Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I can understand, the reason the economy tanked this time was because people were, and were encouraged in, legally and otherwise, spending far beyond their means (primarily because real estate skyrocketed out of the reach of most people unless they did, but also due to rampant consumerism).

So it would seem to me that the way to fix the economy is not to get people spending more than they can afford again, but to figure out a way to get the economy healthy again that doesn't require rampant consumerism.

Perhaps by becoming a "making" or "creating" economy again, instead of a "buying" economy?

Or am I just clear out in left field here?

Linnet's losing weight again. The last time this happened, the cure was harder on him than the disease (we've been round and round with H.pylori ever since he was eight years old), and the vet said it probably wasn't a good idea to put a cat his age (he's fifteen) through that again.

When the medicine you take to enable you to digest your food instead of in one end and out the other makes you throw up, it's kind of counterproductive.

Sigh. I love him. I hate it when this happens. His littermate Morgan is still hale and hearty (and three pounds heavier). I swear I should have named them Miles and Mark...

Just one??? Non-political this time.

Cat barf. In a place that goes unnoticed for days.

Oh, and one that has nothing to do with any prior posts:

People (not the author) who misspell character names when they're writing about them. It's Ekaterin, folks, not Ekaterine.
