I got up the guts and went to the doctor this afternoon (I just had to do it kicking and screaming, ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)

I couldn't get in to see my PCP on such short notice, but I saw another GP, and his first reaction was, your sinus infection has been hanging around too long, let's get it cleared up first, and prescribed me ten days worth of antibiotic horse pills [sigh]. The HMO tends to be pretty stingy with the antibiotics because of the common overuse of same, but he said it should have been gone by now if it was viral. If the brain fuzziness doesn't leave with the sinus infection, I'm to come back and then we'll start digging for other reasons.
Which makes a certain amount of sense, although I've never had a sinus infection do this to me before, and sinus infections and I are old friends (I get one almost every single time I get a cold).
Anyway. I found out today that M. the houseguest, who left for home with a carbon copy of this illness, is having similar problems. Which is sort of encouraging in a way, because that makes it more likely that it's the infection that's causing it, and not something more serious.
So. I did something about it. I sure hope it helps. And at least the doctor didn't treat me like a hysterical female. I like this guy. I wonder if he'd mind if I switched to him as my PCP. We'll see how this goes if it isn't the sinus infection first, though, I think.
