mmegaera: (quilt)
The world is *not* owned by Monday-Friday people. Shows, programs, and other events do *not* belong only to the people who don't work on Saturdays. Or Sundays, for that matter (although so far I'm lucky enough not to have to work on Sundays, there are a great many people who aren't, and not just in the retail sector, thank you -- and this may change for me personally in the forseeable future as well).

It is downright rude and insensitive and nasty and mean and everything else to suddenly change an annual event that people *anticipate* for weeks in advance to dates that are not inclusive for everyone who wants to go. Friday, Saturday *and* Sunday, people. Or Saturday, Sunday, *and* Monday. Or *some* combination that does not shut the large percentage of the population out who have to work on either or both weekend days.

Either that or at least give *notice* sooner than the last day of the event so that we can spend one of our precious vacation days and actually go. If, that is, we can *get* that day off, on a weekend when the staffing is tight in the first place.

How incredibly rude. Really I cannot come up with a pejorative strong enough.

A pox on you all, dammit.
