Plane trip reading is different from road trip reading, which in turn is different from home reading. Plane trip reading is usually something light and fluffy -- I try to save new romances for plane trips, or perhaps some nice history.

Road trip reading is usually heavier, either related to something I'm researching on that trip, or something related to where I'm going, or both.

My normal reading mode is "if I absolutely can't find anything else, I will read the airsick bag instructions or the mayonnaise label" so I try really hard to take enough reading material to last me the entire trip, whether I have plans to purchase more along the way or not.

Once, when I was a kid, I made the mistake of taking only one book on a three-week car camping vacation. I can still quote you chunks of the Nancy Drew book, The Mystery at the Ski Jump verbatim, over forty years later. I do not ever want to do this to myself again, thanks.
